Xobni turns Outlook into social networking tool E-mail

Remember that the world is not on twitter and people do not want to post everything on their Facebook page. So here is a great tool forthose of you that use Microsoft Outlook. The tool is called Xobni which is inboX backwards. Here a few things Xobni does.

1. Stats – Xobni gives you a lot of stats but one of the easiest ones is that it will track email that you get from individuals and will plot this on a simple graph. Now you can quickly see that John normal emailed at 10 a.m. & 1 p.m. so if you send him an email you have an idea of when you will see a response.  It does more than that with emails but I will leave it for you to find out the rest.

2. LinkedIn – if you ever wondered if someone that is emailing is on linkedin or not. Xobni will let you know and will even go out to linkedIn and grab their profile photo, how many connections they have, location and headline as well as giving you buttons to quickly go to their profile or add them as a connection.

3. Facebook – Xobni will hit the persons facebook profile and will grab their profile pic, last post, and media stream.

4. And there’s more – along with doing all of that Xobni will also list the email that you have had with a person as “conversation”. In addition it will also show you very quickly all the docs you have shared and it is all right there in the side bar.

In this short video, Co-founder Adam Smith demonstrates Xobni and explains what he could teach Google about desktop search.

Two years ago, Bill Gates called Xobni "the next generation of social networking” here he demonstrates how Xobni "adds value" to Outlook.
